On June 4, 2015 there was held the Conference in American Studies at Gori State Teaching University.
The Conference was opened by the University Rector, Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili, who talked about the strategic relations between the US and Georgia. The US Embassy Cultural Attaché James Dewey and the Embassy representative Richard Nelson gifted books to the University library and the participants of the Conference.
At the Conference Gori University professors Otar Janelidze and Tea Khorguashvili presented reports about the history and economic relations between the US and Georgia. The report of Ana Imnadze, the Doctor of the Philology Science was about the American prose translated by Zviad gamsakhurdia, and the San Diego State University Doctor, vice dean Halil M. Guven introduced San Diego University.
The Conference was attended by the US Ambassador in Georgia Richard Norland, Gori Municipality Mayor Zurab Jirkvelishvili, Head of Council Papuna Koberidze, Municipality Principal Davit Oniashvili, University administration and academic staff, students and invited guest.
At the end of the Conference the audience was shown a short movie “Trainer”.
