International Art Festival “ Machabeli”

On July 18, 2024 various activities took place at GSU within the framework of the International Art Festival “ Machabeli” , band “ Gori”, choreographer Giorgi Sadzaglishvili, director: Davit Darbaidze, opened the event, the first masterclass was led by Polish artist, film director Jaroslav Siekovski with the topic “the Art, that crosses borders”. Mr. Siekovski has had projects in Poland, Cuba, Lebanon, Palestine, Ireland, France, Greece, Ukraine, Turkey, India, Sri-Lanka, Georgia and Germany. He has won various awards such as: Fringe First, Critics Award, Hamada Award, Herald Archangel at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Gloria Artis.

Next participant of that day was Manuchar Bendeliani, the artist who talked about the past as a visual experience, inspirations and techniques of his art. The second day of the festival ended with the short movie “ Jubie’s one day”, directed by Merab Chkhaidze. After the movie, the director reviewed the history of the filmmaking, main actor etc.

At the end of the day, Mr. Aleksandre Mghebrishvili summed up the day's events and gave memorable presents to guests and participants.
