Special working group, comprised of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education and Science introduced campaign against domestic violence –“No to Violence” initiated by the Minister of Internal Affairs to the students of Gori State teaching University.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of Gori State Teaching University Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili, who congratulated the Students successful completion of the accreditation on Bachelor's and Master's programs of Gori State Teaching University. He also talked about the importance of the campaign.
Students were informed on the working group members of which were: Shida Kartli Regional Main Division Levan Gengashvili, head of Patrol Police Faculty of Professional Training Division Nodar Saakashvili, psychologist and head of women’s consulting center “Sakhli” Rusudan Pkhakadze, head of Shida Kartli regional office of non-governmental organization “National network for the Protection from Violence” Lamara Shakulashvili, advisor of the Minister of Education and Science Otar Abesadze, member of the multi discipline group for inclusive education of the Ministry of Education and Science Maka Cikhelashvili.
Members of the commission familiarized students with the aim and importance of the social campaign against domestic violence. At the meeting informative video-“Violence is Punishable” was introduced to students as well. Aim of the video is to inform citizens that in case of domestic violence, they should call “112” hot line or report to the district inspector; Offenders should receive warning that domestic violence is punishable by imprisonment.
