On June 5, 2015 there was held a Scientific Conference dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the Saint Bishop Aleksandre (Okropiridze) by Gori State Teaching University Department of Humanities and Gori and Ateni Eparchy.
The Conference was opened by Gori State Teaching University Rector, Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili. The audience was greeted by Gori and Ateni Metropolitan Andria (Gvazava), Manglisi and Tsalka Metropolitan Anania (Japaridze), Head of Gori Univertsity History and Archeology Teaching-Scientific Center professor Eldar Mamistavlishvili and the University Senior Teacher Zurab Okropiridze.
Jemal Gamakharia, vice head of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia A.R., Georgian Church History researcher Luarsab Togonidze, Manglisi and Tsalka Metropolitan Anania (Japaridze), Saint Andrew the First-Called Georgian University Professor Tariel Putkaradze and Gori University Associate Professor Ioseb Alimbarashvili presented articles at the plenary session.
The plenary session was continued with the work in sections.
