The celebratory event, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university took place at GSU. The event was opened by the rector of the university, Mr. Aleksandre Mghebrishvili, in his opening speech, Mr. Mghebrishvili reviewed past and present life of GSU and read out a congratulatory letter from the President of Georgia. HE Andria read out the letter from Ilia the second, Mr. Givi Mikanadze, Mrs. Mariam Lashkhi, Mr. Giorgi Gabunia, Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili, Mr. Davit Gurgenidze, Mr. Simon Guledani, Mr. Davit Razmadze, Mr. Jaba Samushia, Mr. Shalva Kirtadze, Mr. Tite Areshidze, Mrs. Maka Beridze, Mr. Shalva Chkadua, Mr. Kakhaber Lazarashvili, Mr. Mirian Khositashvili also addressed the audience. Representatives of academic, legal and cultural circles gave brief speeches and pointed out the significance of the university for the Shida Kartli population. Mr. Givi Mikanadze, Mrs. Mariam Lashkhi, Mr. Giorgi Gabunia and Mr. Giorgi Sosiashvili were awarded with special medals at the end of the event. The girls choir gave a memorable performance at the event.
