Before applying for a IANUS scholarship, you should:
• Check the eligibility criteria and make sure that you are eligible for a IANUS scholarship;
• Inform yourself on the study programs / scholarships offered by the host universities, both on the IANUS website (academic offer) and on the website of the respective universities;
• Inform yourself on specific selection and admission requirements of the host universities: partners;
• Inform yourself on the documents to be uploaded with your application: documents to be uploaded.
IANUS candidates may apply for 2 different host universities, thus increasing your chances of being granted an Erasmus Mundus IANUS scholarship.
Application form
Once you have decided on the type of scholarship, the field of study and the host university/universities you want to apply for and you know what documents you need to upload, all you have to do is register, fill in the online application form, upload your documents and submit your application.
The IANUS application form is divided into steps:
STEP 1: Register for an account on this page. It is very important that you provide a valid email address. (Please note that you are only allowed to register once. If you register and apply from several accounts, the selection committee will only consider the first one.)
STEP 2: Once you have created an account, you will receive your personal link to the application form. The link will be sent in an email to the address you enter on this page.
STEP 3: You can use the link you received in the confirmation email to apply for up to two host universities and courses. You only have to fill in your personal information the first time.
STEP 4: Upload all required documents corresponding to the type of your mobility and the specific requirements of the host university/ universities. Please note that you have to upload all required documents to have a complete application that will be considered during the selection process.

• Your application is not complete and may not be submitted until you have gone through all the steps. All applications and required documents must be submitted using our online tool. Applications or required documents sent by email or surface mail will not be considered eligible.
• Once you submit your application, you will provided with a confirmation of receipt.
• Your file will be saved and remain accessible until you have uploaded all required documents for each individual mobility; you will be able to access and modify any information only before you press the SUBMIT button!

The Erasmus Mundus program is the worldwide extension of the Erasmus program. aimed at increasing academic cooperation between various countries. The Erasmus Mundus program was created December 5, 2003, with the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union December 31, 2003. It became an official program January 20, 2004. The program then developed as a European Master to conduct two master degrees. 'Erasmus Mundus' stands for 'Erasmus World' in Latin, therefore meaning the international version of the Erasmus Program.
Objectives
By direction of the European Union, the Lisbon Strategy is to develop competition and knowledge-based economy based on high-quality education. The objectives of each individual program that becomes a part of Erasmus Mundus must be:

TARGET GROUPS FOR INDIVIDUAL MOBILITY FLOWS
(2010-2011)
Beneficiaries for Target Group 1:
Students (undergraduate, master, doctorate), post-doctorate fellows and staff (academic or administrative) registered in one of the University members of the partnership (please see the table Members of the Partnership)
Beneficiaries for Target Group 2:
Nationals of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, registered in a higher education Institution (at master, doctorate or post-doctorate level) of these countries not included in the partnership or having obtained in an Institution of these countries a University degree or equivalent. This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to Georgian, Armenian and Azeri nationals working in public administration, public and private enterprises
Beneficiaries for Target Group 3:
Nationals of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, who are in particularly vulnerable situations, for social and political reasons. For example: a. having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries) or b. it can be proved that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination or c. they belong to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy or IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons).

STUDNTS ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2010/2011
EUROPEAN STUDENTS
To be eligible, European undergraduate and master students, as well as doctoral and post-doctoral candidates, referred as "European students":
1. Must be a national of one of the eligible European countries; 2. Must be registered at one of the European HEIs within the partnership;
Students fulfilling the following conditions are also eligible to apply:
- Students applying for a master's mobility who have obtained a first higher education degree or a recognized equivalent level of learning from a European HEI within the partnership during the same academic year coinciding with the start of the project eligibility period;
- Students applying for doctorate mobility who have obtained a second higher education degree or a recognized equivalent level of learning from a European HEI within the partnership during the same academic year coinciding with the start of the project eligibility period;
- Students applying for a post-doctorate mobility who have obtained their doctorate in the last two years and must have the support of a European HEI within the partnership to carry out a post-doctorate mobility. This can be for research, training and attending highly specialized courses.
3. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries.
4. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies at first higher education level. Armenian, Georgian and Azeri students
To be eligible, South Caucasian undergraduate and master students, as well as doctoral and post-doctoral candidates, referred as "third-country students":
1. Must be a national of one of the 3 countries covered by Lot 6;
2. Must have not resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries;
3. For target group 1 (TGI): students need to be registered at one of the third-country HEIs within the partnership. Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of studies in their home institution;
4. For target group 2 (TGII): students need either to be registered in a HEI (not included in the partnership) of the third country concerned by the lot or having obtained a university degree or equivalent by an institution of these third countries. They will need to justify how this study period abroad will benefit them (and their direct socio-economical environment) and include letters of support in their individual application;
5. For target group 3 (TGIII): students need to be nationals of one of the third countries concerned by the lot and be part of the vulnerable target groups.
6. Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the courses or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting countries.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
1. Submission on-line Application (The project team in ATEI and coordinator receive on-line Applications and the Applicant receive a notification on submission. E-mail: pandou.maria@teithe.gr) 2: Submission of paper copies: a/The applicants of target group 1 submit their printed application form and supporting documents to the International Relations Office (IRO) of their University; b/The target group 2 and 3 candidates will send their printed application and supporting documents (attested hard copies) to the institutional coordinator of the receiving Institution(s) ONLY if they are requested to do so. See the contact persons at “Document Submission info”; c/The selected beneficiaries will have to post their attested documents to the host university before the mobility starts; d/The necessary documents, the submission points, as well as the contact persons and other details are included in this web site. 3: Examination by each Institution’s selection committee of applicants and documents eligibility and identification of the eligible ones. 4. a. For students of target group 1 only (except for the Master students): · Interviews of the eligible candidates by the local selection committee. The 5 members of the selection committee complete and sign the “Evaluation Form for Students of Target Group 1” · a/Pre-selection of beneficiaries with the higher score by the selection committee of each University and, if necessary, forwarding of their documents along with the evaluation forms to the receiving Institution(s). The Doctorate students might have to be interviewed by the receiving university through SKYPE. b/ Selection of the SC Master students of all target groups (1, 2 and 3) by the host Institutions, according to their admission rules. The applicants might be asked to participate in an interview through SKYPE. c/ Selection of the academics/staff by the hosting Institution in collaboration with the sending Institution and the project coordinator. The candidates might be interviewed through SKYPE. 5: Final selection for all target groups (actual beneficiaries, plus at least 100% reserve ones) by the hosting Institutions in collaboration with the project coordinator and the partners.
