07 May,2026In May 2026, an article entitled “Europeanization Paradigms through EU Projects in Georgian Higher Education: Insights from Jean Monnet Chairs” was published in English in the Georgian-German Journal of Comparative Law. The article was prepared within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chairs at Gori State University -“EU Social Justice.” The author of the article is Professor Ekaterine Kardava, author and head of the Chairs.
The article aims to review the practices of Europeanization and European Studies within the framework of EU-funded university projects implemented in Georgia. It critically examines the need for new approaches and methodologies, as well as the necessity of innovative teaching practices in higher education. Particular emphasis is placed on the vital role of Jean Monnet Actions in the context of European Studies. The article refers to various Jean Monnet projects implemented in Georgia and presents the Jean Monnet Chairs at Gori State University as a model of best and exemplary practice.
Furthermore, the article provides recommendations for the advancement of European Studies within educational policy, with a particular focus on strengthening European teaching across diverse academic programmes and sectoral fields.
The author of the article, Professor and Doctor of Law Ekaterine Kardava, is the author and implementer of five Jean Monnet projects in Georgia and has also actively contributed to and supported the preparation and submission of Jean Monnet project applications at various universities.
