First Training Jean Monnet Chairs

On April 25, 2025, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Chairs, the first training session on "EU Social Justice" was held at Gori State University.
The training was opened, and participants were welcomed by:

  • Professor Aleksandre Mgebrishvili, Rector of Gori State University;
  • Zurab Zurabashvili, Vice-Rector of Gori State University;
  • Davit Kvernadze, Head of Administration of Gori State University;
  • Professor Tea Khorguashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business, and Law;
  • Professor Tsiuri Duruli, Head of the Office for the Management of the Teaching Process at Gori State University;
  • Professor Marika Sherazadishvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business, and Law;
  • Professor Ekaterine Kardava, Head of the Jean Monnet Chairs.

As part of the training, a video flash mob prepared by the Youth Hub was presented.
The training topics included:

  1. The European Union’s education policy;
  2. The European Union’s cultural diversity policy;
  3. The European Union’s competition policy and internal market;
  4. The European Union’s labor law;
  5. The European Union’s consumer protection policy;
  6. The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.

The training was conducted by Professor Ekaterine Kardava, the project author and Head of the Chair; Professor Marika Sherazadishvili; Giorgi Mgebrishvili, PhD candidate and Head of the Horizon Office of Gori State University; and Zurab Zurabashvili, Vice-Rector.
Participants included academic and administrative staff of Gori State University, students, and members of various professional societies. A total of 34 people attended the training.
